Here are some things we'd like you to know about us...
To begin with, we are natives. With respect to the local saying, "You are a Coloradoan if..." - We hike, bike, paddle, ski, camp, golf, hammock, play and live at high altitude. This gives us a distinct advantage in understanding a Colorado tourist destination.
GuestGuide Publications® is an experienced Grand-county based publications firm. We understand the specific needs of our local tourist markets. We firmly believe in doing it right and doing it on time. We use and are very thankful for the help of local experts and volunteers who also are eager to give us needed advice, time and opinions. Our publications all are designed to reach a variety of audiences, from the young to the young at heart.
On a serious side, GuestGuide Publications®, based in Winter Park, is a family-owned business. Publisher, Susie Masterson has lived and worked in Winter Park for more than 20 years. She draws on her experience working in the film industry where attention to every detail is a must. This knowledge gained while operating under deadlines on movie sets is translated into producing guide books. For her volunteer work in helping to maintain the trails in Grand County, Susie was awarded the Governor's Colorado Cares Service Award in 2005. She is a photographer, traveler and writer. Editor, Helen Masterson has owned a condo in Old Town Winter Park since 1976. Before starting her own public relations firm, she was director of public relations for the Denver Art Museum, Director of public information for the University of Colorado's Boulder campus and director of public information at the Education Commission of the States and the National Assessment of Educational Progress. She wrote Jefferson County, A Contemporary Portrait and copy for Colorado River Headwaters Scenic & Historic Byway brochure.
PS *We also know what Rocky Mountain Oysters are (but would never eat them!), that SPF 90 is never out of the question, know that April showers bring May blizzards, and we have gone skiing in July.

Susie Masterson has been enjoying the wilderness and photography most of her life. To her, the most wonderful images come when the beauty of a wilderness experience is forever captured "on film". She has a line of note cards from Colorado and Minnesota's Boundary Waters. Her stock photography has been used in advertisements and GuestGuide Publications many publications.

Jeff Russell developed a passion for the outdoors and photography shooting whitewater photos for rafting companies in his native state of Maine. He brought that enthusiasm to Colorado in 1989, and finally to Grand county in 1996 where the mountains provide inspiration on a daily basis. "I look for that unique perspective, and the quality of light that combine to tell a story in a dramatic way. I love to shoot mountains, rivers, the natural world and people taking part in exploring there, especially when it expresses a passion for life and demonstrates a value of the environment".
